Introducing Myself... Empty Introducing Myself...

Post  bobbi Wed Nov 05, 2008 8:51 pm

I am a wife and mother of three. I've had "flare ups" for 30 years but have been misdiagnosed with everything imaginable. Finally, I think the docs got it right. I am being treated for fibromyalgia with mainstream meds and vitamins/supplements. As information, I was put on Ultram (non-narcotic) for pain and at first, it didn't help at all. Then, the doctor increased the dose to 2 tablets 3 times a day and it actually helped! I am sharing this in the hope someone else may have similar success with their painkiller meds if they explore changing the dosage rather than the medicine, itself. It might be worth a try. I am planning to file for SSD but a little afraid - I've seen my primary care doc, a psychiatrist, and an MD at the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue center in Atlanta. Do I need to add another specialist?
Well, I hope this forum grows and we all develop a strong bond of friendship. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to other members of the forum,

Bobbi

Introducing Myself... Empty Every Specialist helps with SSDI

Post  Tammy Elaine Fri Nov 14, 2008 2:35 pm

You know, I found when I was trying to get my SSDI that every doctor, every specialist, counts and helps. I am glad you have found a med that helps with the pain....so many never do.

Glad you are here and give a shout if you ever need anything! clown

Introducing Myself... Empty bobbi,

With that many doctors, and with those prescriptions, you should have an easier time than most receiving Social Security Disability Insurance. As long as you worked 5 of the last 10 years, and are able to prove that you cannot work the job you currently have or be trained to work another job, you are eligible for SSDI. Having the support of your doctors is one of the most crucial aspects to being approved for SSDI, as the SSA checks medical documentation extensively when making their decision. If your looking for a qualified SSDI attorney in your area, I went through www.socialsecurity-disability.org and was approved in 6 months!
