Hi everyone,

I am 37 years old, female, and have been living with FM/CFS for 6 years now but only dx about a year ago. I also entered perimenopause around the same time that the FM/CFS started. Once I got the FM/CFS and peri dx came to bear, I was dx with a whole bunch of other stuff - goitre(enlarged thyroid), endometriosis, adenomyosis, bilateral vestibulopathy and of course periods of terrible depression, anxiety and so on. I also have Aspergers Syndrome, an autistic spectrum disorder.

I am engaged to a very patient man, who puts up with me wanting to bite the legs off chairs in my pain state. My son is 15 and tries to help me through this nightmare, despite his lack of understanding. As much as I love them both, I often want to escape, and go and lie quietly in the bush and lick my wounds. It is very, very hard as I am sure most of you know.

I have finally found good doctors after years of mist, terrible fear and confusion. I have an excellent Aspergers specialist psychologist, a psychiatrist, a thyroid surgeon, an excellent gynea, a brilliant GP and an awesome osteopath. Next to add to my medical menagerie is a pain management consultant doctor. After 6 years of trying to manage it myself, I need more from someone who knows.

I often employ the use of mathematics to calm my mind and bring my brain back to a focal point. I am teaching myself software programming when the horrendous brain fog will allow and live for my collection of Anne Rice and Stephen King books and Star Trek dvd collection Very Happy

There you have it. Great to meet you all. Like a Star @ heaven
