My dad found his old record player yesterday and said it's mine if I want it. I just have to find a new needle for it.

So I can finally start my vinyl collection now! (Most of my parents' records are either not my taste or too scratched to sound like actual music, so can't start there.) I'm starting to build a list of records I want on vinyl. I'm trying to stay away from albums I already own on CD atm. One day I will get my favorites on vinyl (God, Disintegration and London Calling would be amazing) but now I just want to pick up 2 or 3 in the meantime before I go away to school (not lugging the record player with me, so it would be dumb to go out and but 20 records, lol).

So far I'm thinking:

Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
This Year's Girl - Elvis Costello
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes

But also perhaps Black Sabbath, or Paranoid, or Surfer Rosa, or You Forgot It in People, or maybe My Aim is True? D= Such tough decisions. The World/Inferno would probably sound good on vinyl too... edit: and The Doors!
