I have known many in your exact situation...Social security is tough in all ways...However, there is hope! My best suggestion to you is to consult a lawyer who specializes in Social Security benefits immediately, and explain your situation. One tip of advice though, be certain that the representation is free, until they win your case, and then of course you will pay a small percentage when you do win. The majority of people I know, who have filed for Social Security, were denied numerous times.Without the help of a lawyer, it is extremely difficult to prove disability because of Fibromyalgia, and the laws certainly do not work in our favor. If you need help finding a lawyer to represent you, each county court house usually has a family services division that you can call, and they should be able to provide you with information to help you find one; or you can always look one up in the phone book.
I really hope this helps you!

Help

Post  juls on Tue Nov 01, 2011 12:24 pm

I don't know what to do or how to do it. I need to file for disability, I have no money, my pain is all consuming. Things in my life have changed so much over the last couple of years. I feel like I've gone from feeling like I'm in my twenties to the age of eighty in a matter of months. I can hardly pick up a gallon of milk much less twist the cap off. Just driving longer than 5 minutes is so painful then it's another huge task just climbing out of the car. So not fair to my 12 year old daughter. She practically does everything for me. In the last 4 months I have cleaned my home all in one day. Actually that was the 4 main rooms, not including 3 bedrooms. Now when I clean it's one thing at a time when it really needs it. It took me from 2pm till between 9-10pm. I did only the normal cleaning. The bathroom was the most difficult since it required getting down on my hands and knees to clean in and around the toilet. I did manage to do 3 loads of laundry that day also. I felt better about my kitchen and bath getting a good cleaning but I spent the next few days paying for it dearly because my entire body ached. I was on the couch or in bed having to recoup. Since I am coming to the realization that I will not be getting better I need SSI. I've not worked enough in the pasts 10 years to draw normal disability benefits. I just don't know where to begin. I applied online for it and was denied of course because I have not paid in enough over the last 10 years.
