Hi there

Post  Joker on Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:56 pm

I'm disabled and no I don't have fibromyalgia, Unless It's a pain that aleve won't touch like in My left arm/hand like I had yesterday. I'll be 48 in July and would qualify for SSDI If It weren't for that unfair sliding 5 year window(If one applies without enough evidence You've got 5 years to get It and It can be difficult when both parents are either dead or about to be and You're poor to boot), In any case I paid into SSDI for at least 10 years and If It weren't for the sliding window I'd have SSDI and SSI instead of just SSI which is supposed to have about 3 million people nationwide getting only SSI and nothing else(So Yes I support Reform of SSDI). I had to have My brother pay for an eye exam which got Me My glasses as It was determined then that My eyes weren't 20/20 as had been assumed since birth(No wonder I couldn't hit a target at 1200M while in the Army as It looked blurry then and that was ignored), they are 20/40 and 20/50 and with that I finally got the last of the evidence I needed to get SSI, In addition to the arthritis, joint problems(legs and ankles, I'd broke My lower left leg in 2002 and dislocated My right hip too and no rehab either, I have 3 titanium screws in there, I'd bet the TSA would say I couldn't get on any aircraft cause of that as removal is impossible as their part of My leg now), concentration, anxiety(untreated now due to distance), low output thyroid, weight(368lbs) and I use a cane for climbing/descending stairs and I can't walk too far, My nieces pushed Me around Disneyland in 2007(It was a Christmas Present to Me), And even though It's not been diagnosed by a doctor I seem to have a lot of the symptoms of Autism(Shocking) and yet I'm pretty intelligent even though I have a GED as I didn't complete high school. I can even do what My mom said She could never do, Math in My head and not on My fingers, I could also visualize in My head how to do something or to think about how to accomplish something like building a helix(for Trains to go up or down from one level to another of a train layout) and yep I'm still single and male w/no kids of My own. But I digress, I like PCs(3 quad core PCs crunching 24/7 for Seti(I like numbers & built all 3 myself, I have a 4th PC, but It's offline due to cost as It doesn't produce as much as the Intel Quads as It's an AMD powered PC), Trains(N scale, I'm good at using XTrkCad(now at 4.02) as I developed some track components for XTrkCad while I was into HO scale), My Car(2006 Mustang GT, It's paid for already, It had to be comfortable and the doors had to be big enough as I'm 6'1" tall with eyes of blue & blond still[almost 6'2", missed It by an inch]), TV(57" HD WD-57731) and My Cat Angel(She's 16 years old and a Calico too). I also own My own 1987 manufactured house as I have title to It(I do pay space rent though as I wasn't able to buy any land, as My inheritance from My Aunt only went so far, It paid for the car too, The house is on an earthquake resistant foundation too and is all up to local building code outside and of course HUD building code for the house Itself, The house has withstood gusts to 73mph and so has the carport too which is now bird proof now too[the carport] thanks to 59 1/3 CDs and some upended staples and screws glued in place on the carports supports to deter any landings, which cost Me only My time to do and a few useless CDs that aren't at least headed for a landfill). In any case I micromanage My SSI to get as much out of It as I can. I'd list some other disabilities, But outside of depression I can't remember them all right now and I may have mentioned them all anyway.
