Forum Rules: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!

I have visited quite a few forums in my search for information about Fibro. One thing that I have noticed is that alot of Administrators "rule" their members to death! It is my hope that the people who register in this forum conduct themselves in a civil and empathetic manner; treating others as they would expect to be treated. So, we are going to be pretty laid back here.
I was visiting a popular forum today and posted an invitation to visit my forum, including the URL. OMG! The walls shook. Thunder Rolled. The earth came to a screeching halt because I had apparently broken a golden rule by posting a URL! I even got one of those replies that reads..."according to forum rules, bla-bla-bla-bla-bla". (And it wasn't from a moderator or the admin, it was from a member.) Wow. Nice crowd, huh? I felt like a kid on the playground in a new school that everyone made fun of. I probably won't return to that forum.
Yeah, I read the rules, twice. I remember reading that members couldn't post advertisements but don't recall the rules saying, no URL's". So sue me! I have freakin' Fibromyalgia, dementia, cognitive dysfunction, Aphasia...! The list is long and distinguished. I made a mistake. I wasn't advertising Viagra! I was inviting folks to my NON-PROFIT site about fibro.
One thing - now I am home. I am on my territory. This is MY forum. I say what I can write and what I cannot. Here- my members can include URL's as long as they are directing our members to a related site that has pertinent info that could help someone here. I want my forum members to have access to every piece of information about fibromyalgia that is out there. If you know of a good fibro site, tell us about it. It's not about being the baddest in the valley. Here it is about helping us all deal with this terrible disease that is stealing our lives out from under us. What a load of crap. I mean, do you really want to help people or not?
Well, here we do.
Now please remember that if you post unrelated material here you will be banned and I reserve the right to decide what is "related". Use common sense that is all. I do not want to censor or squelch my forum members in any way so for now - URL's can be posted and the only way that will change is if the priviledge is abused.

In addition, this is not an "Advertising forum" They are all over the internet and if you want to advertise, go find one to do so! Please do not do it here. If You have joined this forum with doing so in mind, you've done so in vain as your posts will be deleted. If you know of a n FM site or url that could benefit our members please include it in the "FM Resources" Category and write your post as you would tell a friend, not as an advertisement. The "Introduce Yourself" forum category is NOT AN APPRORIATE PLACE TO LIST THIS INFORMATION! The posts will be deleted.
