I've had "flare ups" for 30 years but have been misdiagnosed with everything imaginable. Finally, I think the docs got it right. I am being treated for fibromyalgia with mainstream meds and vitamins/supplements. As information, I was put on Ultram (non-narcotic) for pain and at first, it didn't help at all. Then, the doctor increased the dose to 2 tablets 3 times a day and it actually helped! I am sharing this in the hope someone else may have similar ...
