Hi,

I am new to this forum via information my Dad sent me. I have had Fibromyalgia for almost 20 years. Found out what it was when researching a deferment form at the company I worked for. Found a wonderful doctor through a friend who helped me to combact this thing along with several underlying issues and have felt pretty darn good most of the time. I have gone back to work two days a week and have the support of a great husband.

I don't have the horrid fatigue unless I over do it. ...

Hi everyone,

My name is Debbie and I am from Tucson, AZ. I am new to forums so please forgive any errors. I have had FM for a few years and CFS for over 20. This is the first time that I have sought support or inspiration on how to live with this. Just wondering how others cope day to day with the depression, constant pain, feeling of uselessness and loneliness? I am married, no children, had to quit my job the first of March due to this problem. Am also very shy and not sure what else to say ...

hi all

I have had fibro for a few years still dont know much about it.

I get the stiff rigamortis walk and fog brain plus lots of other natsties. but try to ignore them and get on in life

I have diabetis and had a heart attack, just a walking disaster really.

The way I deal with this is to laugh at my clumsiness. humour is the best medicine. though I do have to take lots of other pills.thats enough about me. please get in touch.

Hi, Everyone!

It has been a trying time the past month. Unfortunately, I can no longer maintain my household, nor pay my bills on what SSDI pays, so it has come to the point where I am going to have to move back home to NC from Texas to live with my sister and her family. I have been packing for a month now, trying to get as much done as I can ahead of time and my sister and her husband fly in on Saturday to help do the rest, load it all into a 26' Penske truck and then we make the two day ...

Hey all its Dori a new member here, thankfully. I was wondering if i am the only one totally frustrated by the s.s.d.i. system. How the heck can anybody survive not working for almost 12 months or be disabled for 12 months before they will even consider ur application. It was so confusing i had to get a lawyer in hopes that it helps.

Meantime, i feel shut off all friends (who dont or wont understand), not working, no money, how do you all survive??? i feel so lonely at times, so along ...

My name is Julie and I live near Edinburgh in Scotland. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well as Antiphospholipid syndrome (lupus anticoagulant/hughes syndrome) a few years ago. I am still in the process of trying to find medical help as my last visit to my consultant at the hospital wasn't what I expected. I was seen by one of his medical team, a young female who read through my notes and said to me that after reading my notes, anyone would think I was dying. She then said ...

I am being treated for fibromyalgia with mainstream meds and vitamins/supplements. As information, I was put on Ultram (non-narcotic) for pain and at first, it didn't help at all. Then, the doctor increased the dose to 2 tablets 3 times a day and it actually helped! I am sharing this in the hope someone else may have similar ...

Just a question - Am I correct in thinking this is an American forum?

I have a lot of stuff for posting, but information such as Disability Living Allowance and Incapacity Benefits are not really relevant are they?

I can tell just by a few of the names that we do have a few Brits here - it will be interesting to compare the different treatments etc., from the other side of the Atlantic. America always seems that one step ahead of here and your web site is very interesting by comparison. ...

Living with Fibromyalgia isn't like living a normal life, although everyone expects you to because noone believes or comprehends just how sick you are. For example: if I were having a normal conversation with someone I had only just met and mentioned that I had Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer or HIV or Lupus, the individual would immediately recognize and empathize with the illness. They would have a general understanding that having one of those diseases, my pain and suffering were great. When ...

Everyone thinks that fibro is this new fab illness when it has been referred to in doctors' journals since the early 1800's. My first symptoms appeared in the early 90's, beginning with IBS. For two years I struggled to keep the flares under control while my doctor lectured me about my weight, my diet and my smoking. I was wondering if anyone has tried the "Holy Tea" for their FM/CFS? I have been having ALOT of serious problems with IBS and all that goes with it in recent months and finally broke down and thought I would give it a try. Rather than order it from their site, which offers a trial, (one week supply) for $15, I ordered it from a lady on eBay who sells a months supply for $16. It should be here in a couple-three days and the fun begins...LOL.

detox

Detoxing was one of the first things that made me feel better. I used Niacin, not the no flush kind. I read an article that said that it helped arthritis. It took away the stiffness and pain in my feet. Then I found out that it also helps remove toxins, it probably does this because it dilates your blood vessels. Certain people shouldn't take it though so don't take anything without talking to your doctor and doing a lot of research.
